A quick update on Remembrance medal mounting

Hi there,

I wanted to give you another quick update on our Remembrance medal mounting book.

When we opened bookings this year, we worked out that our workshop had capacity for 2,200 medal mounting orders before Remembrance Sunday.

As of this morning, just 490 of those places remain.

That’s more than 1,700 places already allocated — and we’re now only six weeks away from Remembrance Sunday on 8 November.

We’ve opened the book earlier this year specifically to avoid the last-minute rush, and it’s certainly helped. But with almost 80% of our available capacity now taken, we’re getting to the point where I don’t want anyone who needs their medals for Remembrance to leave it too late.

If you’re planning to have your medals court mounted, swing mounted or remounted this year, now would be a good time to get them to us.

We’ll continue updating the remaining number on the website as places are allocated.

Once they’re gone, we’ll close guaranteed Remembrance mounting and move to our Priority List in case any additional workshop capacity becomes available.

A quick update on Remembrance medal mounting

Hi there,

A few weeks ago I wrote to let you know that we were handling Remembrance medal mounting a little differently this year.

Rather than setting a last-minute cut-off date, we worked out exactly how much our workshop could realistically complete in time for Remembrance Sunday and opened 2,200 mounting places.

I thought I'd give you a quick update.

We now have just 666 places remaining.

That means more than 1,500 Remembrance mounting places have already been allocated since we opened the book.

There's still time, and I don't want to manufacture urgency where there isn't any. But the mounting book is filling considerably faster than we anticipated.

Once the remaining places have been allocated, we'll close guaranteed Remembrance mounting and open our Priority List for any additional capacity that becomes available.

So, if you're planning to have your medals court mounted, swing mounted or remounted ready for Remembrance Sunday on 8 November, I'd recommend getting them booked in sooner rather than later.

Every year, as Remembrance Sunday approaches, the same thing happens at Empire Medals.

Our medal mounting workshop gets incredibly busy.

And every year we reach the point where we have to tell customers that we've simply run out of time to prepare their medals before Remembrance Sunday.

This year, we're going to handle things differently.

We've looked carefully at our workshop capacity between now and Remembrance Sunday, 8 November, and we believe we can accept 2,200 medal mounting orders for completion in time.

So rather than setting an arbitrary cut-off date, we're opening our 2026 Remembrance Mounting Book today.

We're also going to publish the number of places we have remaining on the Empire Medals website and update it as the mounting book fills.

Once those places have gone, we'll close guaranteed Remembrance mounting and open a Priority List in case further workshop capacity becomes available.

There are 2,200 places available as I write this.

If you're planning to have your medals court mounted, swing mounted or remounted for Remembrance this year, you can reserve your place here:

There's no need for panic or countdown clocks. We've opened the book early precisely so that everyone has plenty of notice.

A LASTING SYMBOL OF REMEMBRANCE

Last weeks competition:

Featuring a distinctive purple ribbon with a green centre stripe, this ribbon denotes service in a number of British military operations from 1918 to 1962.

Rather than issuing a separate medal for each campaign, clasps were added to recognise service in specific operations. This allowed the medal to reflect an individual's service across a range of military deployments.
